FAPG June 2026 Newsletter, Now Out!

Welcome to the Florida Association of Professional Geologists (FAPG)

The Florida Association of Professional Geologists (FAPG), the Florida Section of the American Institute of Professional Geologists (AIPG), is dedicated to protecting, promoting, and advancing the practice of geology throughout Florida. Professional geologists play a critical role in protecting groundwater, evaluating sinkhole and geohazard risks, supporting responsible development, and safeguarding Florida’s natural and built environments.

FAPG remains committed to defending professional licensure and strong geologic oversight across the state. During the 2026 Florida Legislative Session, FAPG helped defeat HB 607, a major deregulation bill that would have weakened professional oversight boards and continuing education requirements. FAPG also monitored important environmental legislation, including HB 1019 relating to PFAS and firefighting foam, which may increase the need for geologic and environmental expertise in Florida.
